For best results, place the pigeon trap on a flat roofed building where there is a lot of pigeon traffic. Barns are also ideal, but keep the trap in an open area so it’s visible from where pigeons roost.

For the first few days, tie the pigeon bobs open at both ends of the trap and bait it with whole kernel yellow corn scattering it generously inside the trap. This will get the pigeons used to entering and feeding from the trap. Now you are ready to lower the bobs and start trapping.

Another way to get pigeons to enter the trap is by placing a live pigeon inside the baited trap with whole yellow or cracked corn with the pigeon bobs down. Pigeons will be more willing to enter when they see other birds feasting on free food.
